The Practice

Dr Jacob’s practice is located within Cooinda Psychiatry Clinic at Buderim Private Hospital, where he has been based since 2014.  In the clinic he often works closely and collaboratively with a team of consultant psychiatrist colleagues, whose practices are also within the clinic.

This has the advantage of maximising patient care by, for example, providing patients with opportunities for seamless access to medication-based treatment options, if needed, which can complement psychological services provided by Jacob. For example, if an assessment with Jacob leads to a diagnosis of adult ADHD, linking in with a psychiatrist within the clinic for follow-up and to discuss medication options can be done easily and efficiently.

Further, Jacob working closely with psychiatrists at Cooinda Psychiatry Clinic can facilitate possible referrals to Buderim Private Hospital's inpatient and outpatient services. For example, the hospital offers group treatment programmes (e.g., DBT groups; ADHD treatment groups; group CBT for anxiety and depression) which Jacob himself leads each Monday.
